The Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare recently launched the revised Anemia Mukt Bharat (AMB) Abhiyaan Operational Guidelines. The update marks a transition from a routine distribution programme to a technology-enabled, comprehensive Abhiyaan, expanding the classic 6×6×6 framework into an intensified 7×7×7 strategy and shifting from the T3 to the T4 approach.

Evolution of Anemia control programmes in India:

 

Hemoglobin and treatment data from existing platforms (JANANI Portal for pregnant women, RBSK and U-WIN for children) are being converted into a single, comprehensive Unified AMB Abhiyaan Portal for real-time tracking and evidence-based policy corrections.
