The 2024 Edition of the Chief Science Advisers' Roundtable (CSAR) is scheduled to take place at the headquarters of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), Paris, France on Friday, 6 September 2024.
About:
The G20-Chief Science Advisers' Roundtable (G20-CSAR), led by the Office of the Principal Scientific Adviser to the Government of India, is an initiative under the Sherpa Track of India’s G20 Presidency.
G20-CSAR provides a platform to discuss and devise common frameworks to address some of the pressing policy challenges through inclusive global science advice.
Why G-20 CSAR platform?
G20 brings together the top and emerging scientific powers of the world that produce approximately 85% of global scientific knowledge. It is an effective platform to discuss and achieve solutions to some of the long pending as well as anticipated issues related to scientific research, technology development, and deployment.
Ramnagar (28th-30th March 2023), Uttarakhand hosted the inaugural G20-CSAR, the First Meeting of G20-Chief Science Advisers Roundtable.
The Government of India established the Office of the Principal Scientific Adviser (PSA) in November 1999. The PSA’s office aims to provide pragmatic and objective advice to the Prime Minister and the cabinet in matters of Science and Technology. The Office of PSA was placed under the Cabinet Secretariat in August, 2018. |
