Russia, the world's largest wheat exporter, is facing a critical situation as severe drought conditions threaten to significantly impact its 2025 grain harvest.

Russia had seen a record grain harvest of 158 million metric tons in 2022 but has since experienced a decline with 148 million tons harvested last year and 132 million tons officially expected to be harvested this year.

Russia is the world’s largest wheat exporter.

North Caucasus: The largest wheat producing region in Russia, accounting for about 40% of the country's total wheat production. The region has a favorable climate, fertile black soil, and direct access to the Black Sea ports
