The 'Global Framework on Chemicals was formally established at the fifth International Conference on Chemicals Management (ICCM5) in Bonn, Germany, held on September 25-29, 2023. The Bonn Declaration, a political statement developed through extensive informal consultations, was also adopted during ICCM5.

Core elements of the Framework are five strategic objectives and 28 targets to be reached by 2030 or 2035.

The Global Framework on Chemicals Fund is a financial mechanism designed to support the implementation of the Global Framework on Chemicals (GFC).

The Global Framework on Chemicals Fund supports countries in implementing this international agreement that guides countries and stakeholders in jointly addressing the lifecycle of chemicals, including products and waste.

Yes, India is a part of the recently adopted Global Framework on Chemicals (GFC).

India, like other countries involved in the Global Framework on Chemicals (GFC), has designated national focal points responsible for the coordination of chemicals management policies at the national level.
