The Peacebuilding Commission (PBC) is an intergovernmental advisory body that supports peace efforts in conflict-affected countries and is a key addition to the capacity of the International Community in the broad peace agenda.

The PBC is composed of 31 Member States, elected from the General Assembly, the Security Council, and the Economic and Social Council. For example, if you see for 2024,

The Peacebuilding Commission (PBC) was jointly established by the General Assembly and the Security Council in 2005 as a new intergovernmental advisory body of the United Nations that supported peace efforts in countries emerging from conflict.

India has been a member of the Peacebuilding Commission since its inception in December 2005.

To ensure collaboration among humanitarian, development, and peace actors, the Commission regularly invites briefers from the field, including representatives from peacekeeping operations, special political missions, United Nations Country Teams, and other UN political presences to participate in its country- and region-specific meetings.
